Courthouse security project bids opened

Bid openings for a security camera system to monitor the outside area of the Daviess County Courthouse took place Thursday and involved seven contractors.

Tabulations from the closed bid show prices ranging from $11,812 to $45,836 for the job.

Equipment should include four lens 180-degree IP panoramic cameras and to be mounted on the porch areas of each of the four sides of the courthouse.

Jordan Johnson, county purchasing agent, said the enhancement is for security and liability purposes.

Fiscal Court plans to make a selection on March 19.
