Daviess County Fiscal Court is looking to install a security camera system to monitor the outside area of the Daviess County Courthouse.

Jordan Johnson, purchasing agent for Daviess Fiscal Court, said the enhancement is to better monitor the courthouse’s exterior property for security and liability purposes.

“Our exterior monitoring is quite limited at the moment, as we only have a single camera pointed at the County’s parking lot,” Johnson said. “We are rather blind to events on the lawn and surrounding areas.”

The court is accepting bids until 2 p.m. Thursday.

Equipment will include four lens 180 degree IP panoramic cameras. The court is looking for cameras to be mounted on the porch areas of each of the four sides of the courthouse, 212 St. Ann Street.

“Interior building coverage is more than sufficient and is not within the scope of this project,” he said. “Once the bids are opened. I will take them before the Fiscal Court in March with a recommended award to see if the court wishes to pursue contract and installation.”
