Kentucky State Police responded to an ATV collision in Philpot Thursday night.
Jason A. Hunt, 41 of Sellersburg, Ind., was traveling westbound on Poplar Log Bridge Road on a Suzuki ATV. For an unknown reason, the ATV exited the north side of the roadway and struck a tree, ejecting Hunt.
He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead on-scene by the Daviess County Coroner’s Office.
He was not carrying any passengers.
An autopsy is scheduled later today.
Daviess County Coroner’s Office, Daviess County EMS/Ambulance Service and Masonville Fire Department assisted KSP at the scene.
It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision; however, the investigation is on-going.
