The Owensboro man who was killed during a head-on collision Saturday night on the Wendell Ford Expressway has been identified as 93-year-old Maurice Magruder.

Magruder died when his 2011 Ford Mustang collided with a 1999 Ford F-150 at the 2200 block of U.S. 60, according to a news release from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

Magruder, who was driving east in the westbound lane when his vehicle stuck the oncoming pickup truck head-on, was pronounced dead at the scene. DCSO said age could have played a part in the accident.

Four people in the pickup, including a two-year-old girl and a six-month old boy, were taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The baby was later taken to Norton’s Children Hospital in Louisville for further checkup.
