Daviess County Fiscal Court is temporarily limiting access and/or use of some county park facilities, effective Saturday and until further notice, in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The affected facilities include basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball/softball diamonds and playground equipment and shelters.

The facilities that will remain open include walking paths, fishing lakes, green spaces, disc golf and Daviess County Gun Club.

“We encourage people to observe all the safety precautions listed by the federal and state governments, Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization, including frequent hand washing and social distancing,” reads the executive order signed by Judge-Executive Al Mattingly. “If you are ill, we encourage you to please stay home.”

If you have any questions, please contact the Daviess County Parks and Recreation Department at 270-685-6142 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., or visit daviessky.org and the Daviess County Fiscal Court Facebook page.
