The 27th annual Owensboro Home & Garden Show will be at the Owensboro Convention Center this weekend for two days.

About 4,000 people are expected at the 44,000-square-foot exhibit hall to check out the latest home improvement and design ideas on the market.

Show times are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 and children 12 or under get in free.

Richard Stallings, executive officer of the Home Builders Association of Owensboro, said the purpose of the show is supposed to be a one-stop source for homeowners.

“Most things are represented, in the sense of, there are custom home builders, there are remodelers, there are a variety of different suppliers and service providers,” Stalling said. “The important thing about it really is these are the professionals that do work, that know how to address concerns, modernize or build new homes for you.”

He said 25 percent of the 2020 exhibitors are new, adding the show keeps going for 27 years because of this continued success in attracting a diverse group of professionals.

“We can do a lot of research online, but there’s nothing that will ever replace like what you and I are doing right now,” Stalling said, which is “talking to each other and learning from each other and that’s what the show offers.”
