Popular beach destinations closed due to COVID-19 concerns

With many beaches across the country closed due to the concerns of the coronavirus, Spring Break travel has been canceled for many in Owensboro.

On Friday, Panana City Beach officials voted to close its beaches for at least week. Other beaches across the state are closed for much longer. Many beaches have officers patrolling the sand and those find ignoring the orders will be fined.

POPULAR BEACH DESISTANTIONS CLOSED

ALABAMA
All Gulf Coast beaches — until further notice

FLORIDA
Clearwater — until April 6
Destin — until April 30
Fort Lauderdale — until April 12
Fort Myers — until further notice
Miami – South Beach — until March 26
Naples — closed until March 30
Siesta Beach — until further notice
Panana City Beach — until noon March 26
Public beaches in Tampa — until further notice
