The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce will host its first-ever remote Rooster Booster in the event’s 60-year history on Thursday. Gov. Andy Beshear will serve as the guest speaker.

The event, hosted by EM Ford, will take place virtually through Facebook Live and Zoom, and will be free to the public.

Officials with the Chamber did not comment on what Beshear would address during the event.

Owensboro Chamber President and CEO Candance Brake said the Chamber is ready to open up the economy and get back to the economic growth present in Owensboro just a couple of months ago.

“Our Chamber knows that now more than ever we need to continue to connect to one another,” she said. “And even though it may look different for a while, we will make the best of it. We felt like having Rooster Booster was our way to continue forward together.”

The May 7 Rooster Booster will be streamed at 7:30 a.m. on Facebook Live and Zoom. Those wishing to join can do so via the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page or by visiting chamber.owensboro.com to complete a registration form. Registrants will be emailed an access link and instructions.

Editor’s note: A quote about Beshear was attributed to the Chamber in the original version of this story. That quote was actually taken from Beshear’s bio.
