COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 11 cases, 34 recoveries reported for area

The fifth COVID-19-related death in Daviess County and the fourth in Henderson County were reported Tuesday morning. Also announced were 11 more cases and 34 more recoveries for the Green River District.

Patient information regarding the two deaths has not yet been released.

New cases were in Daviess (2), Henderson (2), McLean (1) and Ohio (6) counties.

More recoveries were in Daviess (7), Henderson (7), Ohio (18) and Webster (2) counties.

Of the 595 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 434 (73%) have now recovered and 69 (11%) have required hospitalization. There are 14 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 10 deaths — five in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, and one in McLean County.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 289 cases, 222 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 26 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths
  • Hancock County – 6 cases, 6 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 1 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 97 cases, 70 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 23 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 21 cases, 18 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 140 cases, 82 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 10 ever hospitalized
  • Union County – 9 cases, 8 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 1 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 33 cases, 28 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 55.4% of patients have been male and 44.6% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 2 cases
  • 1-11 — 7 cases
  • 12-19 — 24 cases
  • 20-29 — 100 cases
  • 30-39 — 132 cases
  • 40-49 — 128 cases
  • 50-59 — 93 cases
  • 60-69 — 60 cases
  • 70-79 — 25 cases
  • 80+ — 19 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
