A total of four more cases of COVID-19 and six more recoveries from the virus were reported Wednesday for the Green River District. New cases were in Daviess (2), Henderson (1) and Ohio (1) counties, while recoveries were in Daviess (3), Henderson (1) and Ohio (2) counties.
Of the 599 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 440 (73%) have now recovered and 70 (12%) have required hospitalization. There are 15 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 10 deaths — five in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, and one in McLean County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 291 cases, 225 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 26 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths
- Hancock County – 6 cases, 6 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 1 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 98 cases, 71 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 23 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 21 cases, 18 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 3 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 141 cases, 84 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 10 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 9 cases, 8 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 1 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 33 cases, 28 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 55.4% of patients have been male and 44.6% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 2 cases
- 1-11 — 7 cases
- 12-19 — 24 cases
- 20-29 — 102 cases
- 30-39 — 134 cases
- 40-49 — 129 cases
- 50-59 — 93 cases
- 60-69 — 60 cases
- 70-79 — 25 cases
- 80+ — 19 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
