The Daviess County Public Library will resume curbside service starting at noon Wednesday. Reopening curbside pickup is the first phase in the library’s reopening plan.

Starting Monday, patrons will be able to go online and reserve materials for checkout. For those that reserved an item before the library closed down curbside pickup last month, that item will be available for pickup and notification will be sent when it’s available.

New guidelines for curbside are as follows:
1. Patrons can call, visit the library’s online catalog, or chat via the online web feature to place items on hold
beginning at noon Monday.
2. Curbside will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday.
3. There will be a 10-item limit.
4. Allow 24 hours for material to be pulled.
5. Wait to be notified by the library for when items are ready for pickup.

To pick materials up:
1. Park in the front row.
2. Call pickup number displayed on the library window.
3. Give name and description of vehicle.
4. Be prepared to open the trunk or hatch for contactless delivery.
5. A receipt will be with the material.

“We are anticipating a large volume of request for items,” said Tiffani Henry, Public Relations Coordinator, “we ask for everyone’s patience as start this service up again. Our staff is working hard to get everything organized ready to go.”

The library recently reopened their dropbox for returns. The library will not be implementing fines until July 1, so people have a little over a month to return checked out items before fines kick in.
