Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana has made the decision to forego an in-person Walk to END EPILEPSY and instead host virtual walks due to the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19.

The virtual walks will be held in Owensboro, Lexington, Louisville and Paducah — one on each Saturday in June.

“Even in times like this, seizures haven’t stopped, and neither has the fight to End Epilepsy,” said Deb McGrath, executive director/co-founder of Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana. “That is why we’re hopeful that everyone who planned to attend our Walk in person will join us in full force for our virtual Walk to END EPILEPSY to benefit Kentucky and southern Indiana, to continue to build awareness and take action together for our cause.”

A virtual walk is a set date and time where everyone will pledge to walk in support of the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana.

Instead of walking in person, everyone will be walking virtually in their own neighborhood, on their treadmill, or wherever they choose.

Foundation staff will be on site from 10 a.m. – noon on each virtual walk day, and they invite virtual walkers who have preregistered to pick up their preordered Walk to END EPILEPSY T-shirt.

The Owensboro walk will be held June 6, with staff on site at the WKU Owensboro Campus.

To register or for more information, visit www.efky.org/walk. Everyone who previously registered for the Walk is now a “Virtual Walker,” and will still have access to their fundraising resources and get updates on the event.
