Another business has announced they will permanently close, though this one is more of an early retirement. Top Nails, located inside Towne Square Mall, will not reopen.

An employee made the announcement Monday on Facebook: “It is with a very heavy heart that we have made the decision to not reopen Top Nails after the pandemic restrictions are lifted. We would like to thank our regular customers and infrequent visitors alike for the opportunity to serve you over the last 19 years. We have enjoyed getting to know you.”

The owners were already planning to close up shop before the pandemic hit according to Ed Ray, chief operating officer of Gulfstream Commercial Services — a full-service commercial real estate brokerage company that brokered the sale of the mall.

“The word we got back from the owners was they were about to retire anyway, and this just expedited that retirement,” he said Tuesday evening.

Ray said the space is still fully equipped.

“If there’s another operator interested in going in that space, they could literally move right in and start operating,” he said. “It’s a real opportunity for somebody.”
