The Spot Coffee and Finery has closed its brick-and-mortar building but will continue to offer a full menu on its coffee shop on wheels.

“Due to the nature of the nation and the damage done from COVID-19, this has been decided as the best move for the business,” said owner Jacob Pendley. “I will be opening a bigger and better brick-and-mortar around the end of next year.”

The Spot, located in Williamsburg Square, has been serving organic and fair trade coffee both in their store and on their traveling coffee bus.

Pendley said this wasn’t the outcome he wanted but must adapt “to the changes that we are all experiencing.”

The mobile coffee shop will resume services soon, Pendley said. Check their Facebook page for schedules and updates.

Pendley said many requests and places have already been scheduled.

“I would like to just say that it has been amazing providing a unique shop with local artwork and more, the wonderful atmosphere, accepting of all people and making our customers feel comfortable and supported no matter their beliefs,” he said. “I will be providing that same accepting cool atmosphere not too far down the road in a bigger better building with much more seating.”
