Western Kentucky Botanical Garden is accepting reservations for a “Father’s Day Steak n’ Eggs Brunch” that will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

WKBG promises a “most special of Kentucky farm-fresh Father’s Day treats” as part of its annual week-long Dazzling Daylilies Celebration, when a variety of activities are held each day to attract people to the garden.

Susie Tyler, director of the Botanical Garden, said this the first time WKBG has held this type of event on Father’s Day.

“We have a tradition on Mother’s Day, but this is new. It has an element of a farm-fresh meal,” she said. “The products will be fresh.”

On the menu are steak and deviled eggs, a fruit cup, a Caprese skewer and a Rolling Pin Bismarck pastry.

Tyler said people can picnic and enjoy the daylilies in the garden where tables will be set up, or they can take the food home. A small tent will be set up at the entry of the garden for people to pick up their food, which will be served by volunteers.

The brunch is held in partnership with the Owensboro Regional Farmer’s Market, Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn catering and Hill View Farms Meats.

The cutoff for reservations is 5 p.m. today. The cost is $20 for members and $23 non-members.
