A total of 17 more cases of COVID-19 and 49 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District. The sixth coronavirus-related death in Ohio County was also reported.
New cases were in Daviess (11), Henderson (4), Ohio (1) and Webster (1) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (10), Henderson (10), McLean (1), Ohio (26), Union (1) and Webster (1) counties.
Of the 1,500 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,229 (82%) have now recovered and 138 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 30 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 19 deaths — Daviess County (7), Ohio County (6), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), and Webster County (1).
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 658 cases, 547 recovered, 14 current hospitalizations, 56 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
- Hancock County – 36 cases, 32 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 298 cases, 230 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 36 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 40 cases, 35 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 344 cases, 287 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 25 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
- Union County – 48 cases, 37 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 76 cases, 61 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 10 ever hospitalized, 1 death
Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.6% of patients have been male and 50.4% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 3 cases
- 1-11 — 38 cases
- 12-19 — 97 cases
- 20-29 — 278 cases
- 30-39 — 292 cases
- 40-49 — 275 cases
- 50-59 — 205 cases
- 60-69 — 167 cases
- 70-79 — 85 cases
- 80+ — 56 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
