A total of 29 more cases of COVID-19 and 18 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Tuesday for the Green River District. The first coronavirus-related death in Ohio County was also reported.
New cases were in Daviess (12), Hancock (1), Henderson (2), McLean (1), Ohio (9), Union (1) and Webster (3) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (7), Hancock (1), Henderson (4), Ohio (5) and Webster (1) counties.
Of the 1,148 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 922 (80%) have now recovered and 114 (10%) have required hospitalization. There are 16 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 13 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, one in McLean County and one in Ohio County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 512 cases, 429 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 47 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
- Hancock County – 30 cases, 19 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 216 cases, 172 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 31 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 31 cases, 27 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 274 cases, 205 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Union County – 29 cases, 26 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 56 cases, 44 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 9 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 50.3% of patients have been male and 49.7% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 2 cases
- 1-11 — 24 cases
- 12-19 — 67 cases
- 20-29 — 215 cases
- 30-39 — 236 cases
- 40-49 — 223 cases
- 50-59 — 153 cases
- 60-69 — 116 cases
- 70-79 — 68 cases
- 80+ — 40 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
