COVID-19 update: 15 cases, 17 recoveries reported for district

A total of 15 more cases of COVID-19 and 17 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District.

New cases were in Daviess (12), McLean (2), and Ohio (1) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (6), Henderson (2), Ohio (6) and Webster (3) counties.

Of the 1,163 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 939 (81%) have now recovered and 116 (10%) have required hospitalization. There are 18 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 13 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, one in McLean County and one in Ohio County.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 524 cases, 435 recovered, 9 current hospitalizations, 49 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
  • Hancock County – 30 cases, 19 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 216 cases, 174 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 31 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 33 cases, 27 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 275 cases, 211 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Union County – 29 cases, 26 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 56 cases, 47 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 9 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 50.3% of patients have been male and 49.7% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 2 cases
  • 1-11 — 24 cases
  • 12-19 — 69 cases
  • 20-29 — 218 cases
  • 30-39 — 240 cases
  • 40-49 — 228 cases
  • 50-59 — 153 cases
  • 60-69 — 117 cases
  • 70-79 — 68 cases
  • 80+ — 40 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
