A total of 16 more cases of COVID-19 and eight recoveries from the virus were confirmed Saturday for the Green River District.
There will be no case update Sunday. Updates will resume Monday.
New cases were in Daviess (2), Henderson (8), Ohio (5) and Webster (1) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (3), Henderson (2), McLean (1) and Ohio (2) counties.
Of the 1,067 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 888 (83%) have now recovered and 110 (10%) have required hospitalization. There are 15 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 12 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, and one in McLean County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 486 cases, 417 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 46 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
- Hancock County – 24 cases, 18 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 210 cases, 164 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 30 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 29 cases, 26 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 237 cases, 197 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 17 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 28 cases, 26 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 53 cases, 40 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 8 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 42. To date, 50.6% of patients have been male and 49.4% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 2 cases
- 1-11 — 24 cases
- 12-19 — 60 cases
- 20-29 — 206 cases
- 30-39 — 225 cases
- 40-49 — 217 cases
- 50-59 — 137 cases
- 60-69 — 107 cases
- 70-79 — 55 cases
- 80+ — 30 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
