A total of 29 more cases of COVID-19 and 17 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Thursday for the Green River District.
New cases were in Daviess (8), Hancock (1), Henderson (2), McLean (3) and Ohio (12), Union (1) and Webster (2) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (6), Henderson (6), Ohio (4) and Webster (1) counties.
Of the 1,192 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 956 (80%) have now recovered and 117 (10%) have required hospitalization. There are 19 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 13 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, one in McLean County and one in Ohio County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 532 cases, 441 recovered, 10 current hospitalizations, 50 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
- Hancock County – 31 cases, 19 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 218 cases, 180 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 31 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 36 cases, 27 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 287 cases, 215 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Union County – 30 cases, 26 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 58 cases, 48 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 9 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 50.3% of patients have been male and 49.7% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 2 cases
- 1-11 — 26 cases
- 12-19 — 71 cases
- 20-29 — 224 cases
- 30-39 — 247 cases
- 40-49 — 231 cases
- 50-59 — 157 cases
- 60-69 — 121 cases
- 70-79 — 69 cases
- 80+ — 40 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
