COVID-19 update: 31 cases, 24 recoveries reported for district

A total of 31 more cases of COVID-19 and 24 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Monday for the Green River District. The update reflects a two-day reporting period.

New cases were in Daviess (12), Henderson (9), McLean (1), Ohio (4), Union (2) and Webster (3) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (9), Hancock (1), Henderson (7), McLean (1), Ohio (5) and Union (1) counties.

Of the 1,286 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,006 (78%) have now recovered and 126 (10%) have required hospitalization. There are 26 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 13 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, one in McLean County and one in Ohio County.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 569 cases, 463 recovered, 11 current hospitalizations, 52 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
  • Hancock County – 33 cases, 22 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 237 cases, 195 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 32 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 37 cases, 28 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 309 cases, 222 recovered, 11 current hospitalizations, 24 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Union County – 36 cases, 27 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 65 cases, 49 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 9 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.8% of patients have been male and 50.2% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 3 cases
  • 1-11 — 27 cases
  • 12-19 — 81 cases
  • 20-29 — 241 cases
  • 30-39 — 263 cases
  • 40-49 — 241 cases
  • 50-59 — 173 cases
  • 60-69 — 134 cases
  • 70-79 — 73 cases
  • 80+ — 46 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
