COVID-19 update: 34 cases, 8 recoveries reported for district

A total of 34 more cases of COVID-19 and eight recoveries from the virus were confirmed Thursday for the Green River District.

New cases were in Daviess (22), Hancock (1), Henderson (2), McLean (1), Ohio (4), Union (2) and Webster (2) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (4), Henderson (2) and Ohio (2) counties.

Of the 1,534 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,237 (81%) have now recovered and 142 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 33 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 19 deaths — Daviess County (7), Ohio County (6), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), and Webster County (1).

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 680 cases, 551 recovered, 15 current hospitalizations, 58 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
  • Hancock County – 37 cases, 32 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 300 cases, 232 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 36 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 41 cases, 35 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 348 cases, 289 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 25 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Union County – 50 cases, 37 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 78 cases, 61 recovered, 2 current hospitalization, 11 ever hospitalized, 1 death

Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.5% of patients have been male and 50.5% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 3 cases
  • 1-11 — 38 cases
  • 12-19 — 97 cases
  • 20-29 — 284 cases
  • 30-39 — 303 cases
  • 40-49 — 277 cases
  • 50-59 — 208 cases
  • 60-69 — 172 cases
  • 70-79 — 92 cases
  • 80+ — 56 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
