COVID-19 update: 35 cases, 12 recoveries reported for district

A total of 35 more cases of COVID-19 and 12 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Saturday for the Green River District. There will not be a case update on Sunday. Updates will resume Monday.

New cases were in Daviess (14), Henderson (8), Ohio (6), Union (3) and Webster (4) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (5), Henderson (6) and Ohio (1) counties.

Of the 1,255 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 982 (78%) have now recovered and 124 (10%) have required hospitalization. There are 25 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 13 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, one in McLean County and one in Ohio County.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 557 cases, 454 recovered, 11 current hospitalizations, 51 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
  • Hancock County – 33 cases, 21 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 228 cases, 188 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 31 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 36 cases, 27 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 305 cases, 217 recovered, 11 current hospitalizations, 24 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Union County – 34 cases, 26 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 62 cases, 49 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 9 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.7% of patients have been male and 50.3% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 3 cases
  • 1-11 — 27 cases
  • 12-19 — 78 cases
  • 20-29 — 237 cases
  • 30-39 — 257 cases
  • 40-49 — 237 cases
  • 50-59 — 165 cases
  • 60-69 — 130 cases
  • 70-79 — 71 cases
  • 80+ — 46 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
