COVID-19 update: 1 death, 22 cases, 16 recoveries reported for district

A total of 22 more cases of COVID-19 and 16 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Monday for the Green River District. The eighth coronavirus-related death in Daviess County was also reported. The numbers reflect a two-day period.

New cases were in Daviess (9), Hancock (2), Henderson (5), McLean (1), Ohio (1), Union (1) and Webster (3) counties.

Recoveries were in Daviess (7), Henderson (6), Ohio (2), and Union (1) counties.

Of the 1,590 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,303 (82%) have now recovered and 145 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 36 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 20 deaths — Daviess County (8), Ohio County (6), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), and Webster County (1).

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 705 cases, 583 recovered, 17 current hospitalizations, 61 ever hospitalized, 8 deaths
  • Hancock County – 43 cases, 33 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 312 cases, 248 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 36 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 42 cases, 36 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 350 cases, 298 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 25 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Union County – 56 cases, 41 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 82 cases, 64 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 11 ever hospitalized, 1 death

Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.5% of patients have been male and 50.5% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 3 cases
  • 1-11 — 39 cases
  • 12-19 — 101 cases
  • 20-29 — 300 cases
  • 30-39 — 311 cases
  • 40-49 — 289 cases
  • 50-59 — 217 cases
  • 60-69 — 174 cases
  • 70-79 — 94 cases
  • 80+ — 58 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
