COVID-19 update: 16 cases, 16 recoveries reported for district

A total of 16 more cases of COVID-19 and 16 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Saturday for the Green River District.

New cases were in Daviess (8), Hancock (1), Henderson (2), Ohio (1) and Union (4) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (4), Hancock (1), Henderson (5), Ohio (4), and Webster (2) counties.

Of the 1,568 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,287 (82%) have now recovered and 144 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 35 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 19 deaths — Daviess County (7), Ohio County (6), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), and Webster County (1).

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 696 cases, 576 recovered, 16 current hospitalizations, 60 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
  • Hancock County – 41 cases, 33 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 307 cases, 242 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 36 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 41 cases, 36 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 349 cases, 296 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 25 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Union County – 55 cases, 40 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 79 cases, 64 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 11 ever hospitalized, 1 death

Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.8% of patients have been male and 50.2% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 3 cases
  • 1-11 — 39 cases
  • 12-19 — 100 cases
  • 20-29 — 296 cases
  • 30-39 — 307 cases
  • 40-49 — 285 cases
  • 50-59 — 212 cases
  • 60-69 — 173 cases
  • 70-79 — 92 cases
  • 80+ — 57 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
