COVID-19 update: 32 cases, 12 recoveries reported for district

A total of 32 more cases of COVID-19 and 12 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Saturday for the Green River District. There will not be a case update Sunday. Updates will resume Monday.

New cases were in Daviess (20), Hancock (2), Henderson (3), Ohio (3), Union (3) and Webster (1) counties.

Recoveries were in Daviess (8), Henderson (1), Ohio (2) and Webster (1) counties.

Of the 1,693 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,462 (86%) have now recovered and 155 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 11 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 22 deaths — Daviess County (8), Ohio County (8), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), and Webster County (1).

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 750 cases, 657 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 64 ever hospitalized, 8 deaths
  • Hancock County – 46 cases, 40 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 337 cases, 280 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 39 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 44 cases, 39 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 363 cases, 322 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 27 ever hospitalized, 8 deaths
  • Union County – 62 cases, 50 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 91 cases, 74 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 13 ever hospitalized, 1 death

Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.6% of patients have been male and 50.4% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 3 cases
  • 1-11 — 46 cases
  • 12-19 — 106 cases
  • 20-29 — 323 cases
  • 30-39 — 323 cases
  • 40-49 — 306 cases
  • 50-59 — 241 cases
  • 60-69 — 179 cases
  • 70-79 — 101 cases
  • 80+ — 61 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
