COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 18 cases, 14 recoveries reported for district

A total of 18 more cases of COVID-19 and 14 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Thursday for the Green River District. Two coronavirus-related deaths were also reported in Daviess County.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (10), Henderson (6), Union (2)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (8), Henderson (1), Union (5)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 3,033
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 2,514 (83%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 18
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 229 (8%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 34

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,294 cases, 1,100 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 93 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Hancock County – 70 cases, 61 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 674 cases, 544 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 55 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 78 cases, 67 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 8 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 459 cases, 415 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 31 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 303 cases, 196 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 17 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths
  • Webster County – 155 cases, 131 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 20 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 2 months-100 years old
  • Average age: 43
  • Male: 47.2%
  • Female: 52.8%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 8 cases
  • 1-11 — 100 cases
  • 12-19 — 255 cases
  • 20-29 — 569 cases
  • 30-39 — 503 cases
  • 40-49 — 500 cases
  • 50-59 — 414 cases
  • 60-69 — 358 cases
  • 70-79 — 215 cases
  • 80+ — 108 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
