COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 28 cases, 22 recoveries reported for district

A total of 28 more cases of COVID-19 and 22 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District. One coronavirus-related death each was also reported in Union and Webster counties.

One previously reported case for Hancock County is a resident of Daviess County.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (13), Henderson (7), McLean (3), Ohio (1), Union (3), Webster (1)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (7), Henderson (6), Ohio (1), Union (5), Webster (3)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 2,719
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 2,322 (85%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 12
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 211 (8%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 32

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,175 cases, 1,030 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 87 ever hospitalized, 13 deaths
  • Hancock County – 63 cases, 58 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 604 cases, 485 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 48 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 71 cases, 65 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 8 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 445 cases, 406 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 30 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 219 cases, 159 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 15 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths
  • Webster County – 142 cases, 119 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 3 months-95 years old
  • Average age: 42
  • Male: 47.9%
  • Female: 52.1%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 7 cases
  • 1-11 — 90 cases
  • 12-19 — 225 cases
  • 20-29 — 523 cases
  • 30-39 — 472 cases
  • 40-49 — 463 cases
  • 50-59 — 364 cases
  • 60-69 — 315 cases
  • 70-79 — 172 cases
  • 80+ — 84 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
