COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 65 cases, 23 recoveries reported for district

A total of 65 more cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Friday for the Green River District, marking the highest number reported in a single day so far for the area. Two coronavirus-related deaths were also reported — one each in Daviess and Union counties — as were 23 recoveries.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (31), Hancock (1) Henderson (16), McLean (1), Ohio (4), Union (9), Webster (3)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (13), Henderson (8), McLean (1), Union (1)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 3,098
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 2,537 (82%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 18
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 230 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 36

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,325 cases, 1,113 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 93 ever hospitalized, 16 deaths
  • Hancock County – 71 cases, 61 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 690 cases, 552 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 55 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 79 cases, 68 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 8 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 463 cases, 415 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 31 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 312 cases, 197 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Webster County – 158 cases, 131 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 20 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 2 months-100 years old
  • Average age: 43
  • Male: 46.8%
  • Female: 53.2%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 9 cases
  • 1-11 — 101 cases
  • 12-19 — 258 cases
  • 20-29 — 577 cases
  • 30-39 — 511 cases
  • 40-49 — 509 cases
  • 50-59 — 422 cases
  • 60-69 — 364 cases
  • 70-79 — 224 cases
  • 80+ — 120 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
