COVID-19 update: 27 cases, 23 recoveries reported for district

A total of 27 more cases of COVID-19 and 23 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (13), Henderson (7), McLean (1), Ohio (2), Union (2), Webster (2)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (13), Hancock (1), Henderson (6), Webster (3)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 2,251
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 1,868 (83%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 24
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 189 (8%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 30

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,007 cases, 867 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations, 79 ever hospitalized, 13 deaths
  • Hancock County – 55 cases, 48 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 472 cases, 373 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 46 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 59 cases, 50 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 421 cases, 361 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 29 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 115 cases, 72 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 9 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Webster County – 122 cases, 97 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 15 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 6 months-95 years old
  • Average age: 42
  • Male: 48.2%
  • Female: 51.8%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 6 cases
  • 1-11 — 66 cases
  • 12-19 — 178 cases
  • 20-29 — 436 cases
  • 30-39 — 405 cases
  • 40-49 — 391 cases
  • 50-59 — 300 cases
  • 60-69 — 253 cases
  • 70-79 — 137 cases
  • 80+ — 75 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
