COVID-19 update: 38 cases, 31 recoveries reported for district

A total of 38 more cases of COVID-19 and 31 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Thursday for the Green River District.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (15), Henderson (2), Ohio (4), Union (16), Webster (1)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (10), Hancock (1), Henderson (10), Ohio (3), Union (7)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 2,757
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 2,353 (85%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 12
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 212 (8%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 32

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,190 cases, 1,040 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 87 ever hospitalized, 13 deaths
  • Hancock County – 63 cases, 59 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 606 cases, 495 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 48 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 71 cases, 65 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 8 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 449 cases, 409 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 30 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 235 cases, 166 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 15 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths
  • Webster County – 143 cases, 119 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 3 months-95 years old
  • Average age: 42
  • Male: 47.7%
  • Female: 52.3%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 7 cases
  • 1-11 — 90 cases
  • 12-19 — 228 cases
  • 20-29 — 531 cases
  • 30-39 — 474 cases
  • 40-49 — 467 cases
  • 50-59 — 368 cases
  • 60-69 — 321 cases
  • 70-79 — 181 cases
  • 80+ — 86 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
