OPD: Juvenile victim sent to hospital after hit-and-run, investigation ongoing

The Owensboro Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run near the intersection of 12th Street and Werner Avenue that sent a juvenile victim to the hospital Thursday evening. The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital but the extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

Officials said the victim’s mother was located and made aware of the incident.

According to OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess, a white male juvenile was on a bicycle when he was hit by a vehicle at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Boggess said they believe the vehicle was a silver or white pickup truck.
