Cross Country recap (Aug. 21): DCHS, OHS, AHS

Daviess County and Owensboro boys and girls cross country members made their way to the Central Kentucky Run for the Gold on Saturday, with Daviess County girls and boys teams grabbing top-five placements.

Daviess County girls grabbed third place out of 29 teams, finishing with a total of 102 points and an average time of 20:50.

Lucy Spaw led the way for the Lady Panthers, grabbing fifth place individually with a time of 19:45.90. 

Emily Rempe followed closely behind grabbing ninth place with a time of 20:08.80, while Micah Sagar (21:02.30), Kayley Payne (21:37.60) and Sally Tidwell (21:38.40) rounded out the top-five for Daviess County girls.

Addison Edge competed individually for Owensboro girls, placing 109th with a time of 24:24.50.

Daviess County boys grabbed fifth place out of 33 teams, finishing with a total of 264 points and an average time of 18:13.

Bryson McGary led the charge for the Panthers, finishing 29th individually with a time of 17:23.70.

Justin Shelton was the second-leading runner for Daviess County with a time of 17:42.90, while Caleb Tidwell (17:52.80), Nolan Kurz (19:03.90) and Brody Holbrook (19:06.60) rounded out the team’s top-five.

Thomas Ashby competed for Apollo individually, grabbing sixth place overall with a time of 16:19.50. Jacob Coleman and Jacob Ladwig competed for Owensboro individually as well, finishing with times of 21:52.60 and 26:49.60 respectively.
