Green River District COVID-19 update — August 17

The Green River District Health Department reported 547 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and five coronavirus-related deaths for the district on Tuesday — with 224 cases and four deaths in Daviess County. The newly reported cases were investigated between Friday and Monday.  

According to the GRDHD, 48.56% of Daviess Countians have been vaccinated.

GRDHD also reported new cases in the following counties: 20 in Hancock, 130 in Henderson, 20 in McLean, 58 in Ohio, 56 in Union, and 39 in Webster. One death was reported in Henderson County.

The current 7-day average for new cases in the seven-county Green River District is 165.4 new cases per day. All seven counties are now areas of high transmission.

As reported by Green River District Health Department, the seven-county district’s totals to date are:

  • Reported cases: 26,532 (12,402 for Daviess)
  • Currently hospitalized: 47 (15 for Daviess)
  • Ever hospitalized: 1,068 (424 for Daviess)
  • Deaths: 432 (201 for Daviess)
