Green River District COVID-19 update — August 24

The Green River District Health Department reported 466 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday — with 154 cases and one death in Daviess County. The newly reported cases were investigated between Friday and Monday.  

According to the GRDHD, 49.94% of Daviess Countians have been vaccinated.

GRDHD also reported new cases in the following counties: 16 in Hancock, 124 in Henderson, 14 in McLean, 69 in Ohio, 58 in Union, and 31 in Webster. One death each was reported in Ohio, Union and Webster counties.

The current 7-day average for new cases in the seven-county Green River District is 168.6 new cases per day. All seven counties are now areas of high transmission.

As reported by Green River District Health Department, the seven-county district’s totals to date are:

  • Reported cases: 27,764 (12,837 for Daviess)
  • Currently hospitalized: 29 (13 for Daviess)
  • Ever hospitalized: 1,086 (433 for Daviess)
  • Deaths: 436 (202 for Daviess)
