The Owensboro Catholic girls soccer team remained unbeaten in district play, defeating Apollo 10-0 on the road Tuesday night.

In the victory, the Lady Aces relied on quick ball movement and another stellar performance from sophomore goalie Abby Payne.

The win moved the Lady Aces to 4-0 in the district while the E-Gals fell to 0-3. Owensboro Catholic will travel to Evansville Central on Thursday for what could be a tough matchup.

“We played well offensively tonight, and we were able to give our younger kids some opportunities: they played great,” said Catholic head coach Andy Hines. “Sometimes we can be timid when we go to Evansville; I’m hoping that after tonight, we can go over there with some confidence.”

Payne hasn’t allowed a single goal in district play while also recording six shutouts on the season.

Ashton Logsdon led all scorers with four goals, while Katie Riney and Madeline Hayden each added two. Ella Goetz and Mallary Bailey also recorded one goal apiece.
