OPD investigating 3 Sunday morning shootings; 1 fatal

One person died on scene and another has potentially fatal wounds after a shooting on W. 2nd St. Sunday morning. Two more people suffered gunshot wounds in two separate shootings on Scherm Road but injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to the Owensboro Police Department. OPD is investigating all three incidents.

At approximately 3:58 a.m., OPD responded to the 2200 block of W. 2nd St. for a reported shooting. Officers located two adult males near a parked vehicle. 

According to reports, the first victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died on the scene. The second victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with what are believed to be potentially life-threatening injuries.  

At approximately 1:29 a.m., OPD responded to OHRH for an adult male who arrived suffering from a single gunshot wound. According to OPD, the victim is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries and it appears was shot while driving on Scherm Road.  

At approximately 1:54 a.m., OPD responded again to OHRH for an adult male who arrived suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, also believed to be non-life-threatening. According to OPD, it was determined the victim was shot in the 1700 block of Scherm Road.
