Green River District COVID-19 update — October 8

The Green River District Health Department reported 309 new confirmed COVID-19 infections and 6 coronavirus-related deaths on Friday — with 145 cases and 3 deaths in Daviess County. The newly reported cases were investigated between Tuesday and Thursday.  

According to the GRDHD, 54.98% of Daviess Countians have been vaccinated.

The current 7-day average for new cases in the seven-county Green River District is 102.7 new cases per day.

GRDHD also reported new cases in the following counties: 9 in Hancock, 71 in Henderson, 13 in McLean, 46 in Ohio, 10 in Union, and 15 in Webster. COVID-19-related deaths were reported in McLean (2) and Ohio (1) counties.

As reported by Green River District Health Department, the seven-county district’s totals to date are:

  • Reported cases: 35,294 (15,997 for Daviess)
  • Currently hospitalized: 15 (9 for Daviess)
  • Ever hospitalized: 1,226 (502 for Daviess)
  • Deaths: 533 (243 for Daviess)
