Updated 4:15 p.m. — The Owensboro Police Department is currently investigating a reported firearm discharge that occurred Monday afternoon near the intersection of Holly Avenue and W. 9th Street. OPD said in a release that a vehicle and an occupied residence were both struck by gunfire. No one was injured, according to OPD.
An Owensboro Times reported on scene said he observed multiple shell casings on the ground.
A witness told the OT reporter they observed the suspects fleeing the scene in a Ford Escape.
Detectives responded to investigate and anyone with additional information can call OPD at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.
AMR ambulance has also responded to the scene.
