Trunnell’s Farm Market and Gourmet Deli on KY 54 has been dishing up tasty sandwiches and savory soups for the east side of Owensboro since 2016. The location – which is an extension of the farm’s anchor store and family fun acre on KY 431 – features fresh produce, an elaborate selection of homemade fudge, flowers and plants, and more.

The aroma of an eloquent Jim Bean candle selection and fresh floral arrangements, which extends outside, welcomes customers at the door. Patrons can also find the latest in seasonal gifts and decor to enhance any holiday experience.

The KY 54 and 431 locations now have hanging baskets, annuals, tropicals, and perennials. Visit their Facebook Page here for an opportunity to win a 10-12 inch hanging basket, awarded on Monday every week.

Fourth-generation farmer Kevin Trunnell and his family own and operate the farm and market. Kevin works diligently with his father, Edward, to raise the freshest crops, elevating the produce shopping experience at both locations.

Trunnell’s traces its humble beginnings back to 1990 when Kevin planted one acre of sweet corn and began selling it out of the back of his truck in his front yard. In 3 short years, he expanded to offer tomatoes and relocated to an old tobacco barn with a lean-to shed on the property.

The market continued to expand for the next three decades, evolving to feature additional produce, pumpkins, mums, and other fall decorations. They opened a newly constructed market on KY 431 in June 2008, adding the Family Fun Acre in 2009 to provide education and fun for families and groups.

Seven years later, they added the market on KY 54 next to Lake Forest and dove into the deli, cafe, and catering industry head first. A staple at both locations is the vast array of fresh-baked bread that entices you with a charming aroma as soon as you exit your car.

The KY 54 menu features soups, salads, sandwiches, sliced meats and cheeses, deli trays, and Riley’s soda. Patrons can also pour and bottle their own olive oil and vinegar and grind their own peanut butter.

The catering menu features an assortment of deli salads, fruit and vegetable platters, sandwich and wrap trays, desserts, and more. View the entire catering and party menu here

Mainstays on the menu include the 54 Hot Brown or KY French Dip sandwich. For the whole experience, customers can pair their sandwiches with creamy potato soup and a chocolate eclair for dessert.
