OPD: 1 adult, 2 juveniles charged for crime spree involving windows being shot out

One adult and two juveniles have been charged in connection with a crime spree that included shooting windows and causing damage at approximately a dozen businesses and residences on the evening of November 28, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

Detectives are attempting to locate an additional individual who was involved in these crimes, and additional charges are expected. 

Terry Geary (20 years old, of Owensboro) has been charged with the below offenses and lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center:  

  • Criminal Mischief 1st Degree (10 counts) 
  • Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree (2 counts) 
  • Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree (1 count) 
  • Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 2nd Degree (3 counts) 

Juvenile No. 1 (17 years old at the time of the offenses, of Daviess County) has been charged and lodged with the below offenses: 

  • Criminal Mischief 1st Degree (10 counts) 
  • Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree (2 counts) 
  • Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree (1 count) 

Juvenile No. 2 (16 years old, of Owensboro) has been charged and lodged with the  below offenses: 

  • Criminal Mischief 1st Degree (10 counts) 
  • Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree (2 counts) 
  • Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree (1 count) 

Geary has previously been charged with: 

  • Burglary 2nd Degree 
  • Receiving Stolen Property under $500 

Juvenile No. 1 has previously been charged with: 

  • Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree 
  • Harassment with Physical Contact 

Juvenile No. 2 has previously been charged with: 

  • Abuse of a Teacher Prohibited 
  • Assault 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) 
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking  
  • Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree 

Beginning at 8:30 p.m. on November 28, Owensboro Police Department officers began receiving reports of damage caused to windows at multiple businesses and residences. The damage is consistent with being struck with a projectile from a BB or pellet gun and all the crimes are believed to be related, according to OPD. 

The majority of these reports occurred in the downtown area of Owensboro. Locations where reports were filed included: 

  • 3212 Highway 54 (Kentucky Fried Chicken) 
  • 1501 West 2nd Street (Family Dollar) 
  • 200 block of East 2nd Street (Vehicle) 
  • 2400 block of West 2nd Street (Residence) 
  • 300 Breckenridge Street (Bradford Auto Sales) 
  • 720 East 2nd Street (Kentucky Mirror and Plate Glass) 
  • 414 West 2nd Street (Convention Center Parking Garage) 
  • 501 West 2nd Street (Owensboro Convention Center) 
  • 1400 block of West 4th Street (Residence) 
  • 418 West 3rd Street (Rehabilitation & Performance Institute) 
  • 425 West 4th Street (Gipe Auto Color)
