A 15-year-old has been arrested after being found in possession of a handgun and marijuana, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release, detectives with the DCSO Special Investigations Unit and General Investigations Unit acted upon information received from the Daviess County Public School Police on March 29.
Information was passed along of an internet post made by a juvenile posing with handguns and marijuana, per the release. Subsequent investigation led to the identification and location of the juvenile, handguns and marijuana.
The juvenile was transported and lodged at the Warren County Regional Detention Center.
Charges include:
- Trafficking in Marijuana (8 oz to < 5 Ibs), 1st Offense (Gun Enhancement)
- Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess (Gun Enhancement)
- Possession of a Handgun by a Minor, 1st Offense
Sheriff Brad Youngman said DCSO and the DCPS Police will continue to work together to investigate others involved in the internet post. Additional charges are expected.
