DCSO: Wanted subject arrested early Monday morning

Austin P. Lanham, 26, of Owensboro, was arrested early Sunday morning with 6 felony warrants for his arrest. Lanham also had heroin in his possession and assaulted an officer upon being located, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

DCSO reported that at roughly 1:06 a.m. on Monday they observed Lanham riding a bicycle in the wrong director of the road with no lights on. After attempting to stop Lanham, he then fled the scene. The deputy followed Lanham to the Cravens Avenue and Sutton Lane area.

As Lanham resisted arrest, DCSO reported, he attempted to pull items out of his pocket. Some of the items in the pocket included a fake handgun, a knife and pepper spray.

Lanham was found to have 5 felony warrants out of Daviess County and 1 felony warrant out of Vanderburgh County. For the latter, he has underlying charges of Assault 3rd Degree (Police Officer), Disarming a Peace Officer, Felon in Possession of a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Auto Theft and Falsely reporting an incident.

Lanham was charged with the following for Monday:

  • PCS 1st (Heroin)
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Giving officer False Identifying information
  • Fleeing or Evading Police 1st (On Foot)
  • Criminal Mischief 3rd
  • No lights on bicycle
