This morning, The Owensboro Fire Department responded to fires on the 800 Block of Cedar Street and the 2200 Block of Hutch Lane. Crews were already at the Cedar Street scene when, just 26 minutes later, they received a call regarding the Hutch Lane fire.
The Cedar Street fire is right around the corner from Station 1, so firefighters responded swiftly and put out the fire at 6:47 a.m. No injuries have been reported.
At 7:13 a.m., OFD received a call that smoke was coming out the back door at the Hutch Lane scene. Multiple units responded and immediately launched a search, ventilating and extinguishing the fire definitively. OFD reports the family was displaced, and the Red Cross responded to assist the family.
OFD is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
