Habitat for Humanity Owensboro-Daviess County is hosting its Spring Warehouse Sale this Saturday, offering an opportunity for people looking to make home improvements to purchase items at a bargain. All proceeds go toward supplies to help Habitat build affordable homes.
The Warehouse Sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until supplies run out. Habitat Owensboro-Daviess County is located at 2930 West 4th Street.
Jeremy Stephens, executive director for the local Habitat chapter, said rising prices for building supplies means the cost of building new homes is at an all-time high.
“This quarterly fundraiser is crucial to our operations,” he said. “We are so blessed to have a community that believes in our mission and donates new and gently used home furnishings and building materials that we can turn into an income source.”
This year’s sale has a high supply of donated, still-in-the-box inventory, including lighting fixtures, plumbing supplies, sinks, doors, and windows, along with a wide variety of other home furniture, appliances, housewares, and office items.
“Just like most everything we do, this warehouse sale will run on volunteer power,” said Habitat’s Volunteer Coordinator Lelia Gaines. “I’m always amazed at the willingness of people to give so freely of their time to Habitat for Humanity.”
