Help Office of Owensboro

The Help Office Owensboro is hosting an open house today, providing two opportunities for visitors to walk the halls and learn more about what happens at the Help Office on a daily basis. The first session will run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with the second from 4-6 p.m.

The Help Office, located tt 1316 West 4th Street, offers services including a food pantry, a clothing closet, financial assistance, dental and vision assistance, referrals, and more.

“The need in our community has drastically increased over the last few years and continues to rise at a rapid rate,” the Help Office said in a release. “Because of this, we are seeing more clients than ever in need of our assistance. Our volunteers and community support help keep our doors open and allow us to serve our clients in the best capacity possible.”

The Help Office was established in 1972 by an ecumenical group of churches with the mission to provide effective referrals to community agencies, as well as provide emergency assistance to the less fortunate. The agreement was for churches in Daviess County to finance the organization as well as provide volunteers.

The Help Office is solely funded by the generosity of churches, organizations, schools, individuals, grants, and foundations in our community.
