Update, 7:45 p.m. — Laterrian Burroughs, 22, of Owensboro, has been arrested for the incident and charged with first-degree assault and two counts of wanton endangerment. Burroughs was lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center.

Original story — A second person has sustained a gunshot wound that authorities believe is non-life-threatening, according to the Owensboro Police Department. Officials said the incident is believed to be unrelated to the other shooting that injured one person Thursday afternoon.
According to OPD, patrol officers responded to a firearm discharge complaint in the 2800 block of Daviess Street. The individual who was shot was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital by AMR Ambulance, officials said.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are headed to this scene to assist in the investigation. Authorities said they believe the shooting on Daviess Street is “an isolated incident.” While officials said there was no threat to the public, people are asked to avoid the area at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
OPD said they believe the shooting on Daviess Street is unrelated to the one that occurred in the 1200 block of West 5th Street. Read more on that incident here.
