Fresh off winning the Owensboro Invitational, the Lady Aces carried their momentum into this weekend, winning the Storm Invitational at Hopkins County Central.

“I was proud of how the girls ran today, and they ran strong across the board,” Owensboro Catholic girls head coach Jacob Reid said. “I feel like they’re starting to get in a good grove and build some confidence. They’re off to a great start. I’m happy for them, and they never stopped running in the off-season. All of that work is starting to pay off.”
The Lady Devils finished fifth, and leading the charge was Abby Ladwig (22:50.30), who finished 9th overall. Kiley Palmer (11th, 23:04.91), Jersie Kline (29th, 24:26.40), Addison Edge (38th, 25:31.00), and Addi Johnson (48th, 26:55.90) rounded out the teams top five times.
“The Lady Devils raced very well today,” Owensboro girls head coach Matt Morris said. “They took a lot of what we worked on in practice and applied it on course. Abby Ladwig and Kiley Palmer are starting to show a bit of their speed, which bodes well for the rest of the team.”

“We are coming off of some minor injuries and illnesses this week, which allowed many of our runners to run up,” Daviess County head coach Josh Bratcher said. “We wanted to be more conservative with the race – control our first mile and then see how we could push the last two-thirds of the race. Our goal remains the same. We are going to focus on packing up and keeping everyone healthy.”
