Apollo won their double-header, which included a win over Hancock County, while McLean County fell short in their matchup against Edmonson County.

Ava Fazio recorded a team-high 24 kills and added four blocks in the E-Gals back-to-back 3-0 wins over Barren County (25-5, 25-11, 25-18) and Hancock County (25-9, 25-15, 25-7). Jessica Lee finished with 54 assists and five digs. Jessie Pate, Abbie Butterworth, and Avery Gray all recorded double-digit digs with 21, 12, and 10, respectively, while Pate also led the team in service aces with 17.

“These were two very good wins for us today,” Apollo head coach Mary Howard said. “Our serving was very strong today. Our offensive was also very efficient, and the girls did a good job of turning defense into offense.”

Edmonson County 3, McLean County 0

Jaycee Hedges led the Lady Cougars with six kills and two service aces in their 3-0 loss to Edmonson County. Alicia Bartolon finished with 15 digs, while Rachel Roberts and Addy Kirby each added three kills.

“The girls played well,” McLean County head coach Traci Capps said. “They are really working well together. I’m optimistic that the wins are coming with 19 games left on the regular schedule.”
