Have you gotten too familiar with certain potholes on your daily commute? The Owensboro Street Department is launching its annual “war on potholes” from October 28-November 8, asking for community help in identifying problem areas.

Each fall, the City declares a “war on potholes” in preparation for cold weather and the difficulty in obtaining hot asphalt mix for pothole repair work.

During these 2 weeks, the public is asked to phone City Action at 270-687-4444 to report the location of all potholes. Be as specific as possible on locations, referring to a street address or intersection.

City crews will patch potholes from November 11-22. The City of Owensboro will pass the location of potholes on state or county streets to the proper officials.

“Our goal is to have every pothole in the city identified and patched as quickly as possible,” a release from the City says.
